Are burning candles in an enclosed air-con rooms safe ?

According to a research conducted by our established supplier- studies reviewed that none of them have concluded any health risks to burning your candle in an enclosed air - con room. One study that they looked at in 2007, an in-depth analysis of paraffin, soy, palm, stearin and beeswax candles for emissions of dioxins and furans, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, short-chain aldehydes and more than 270 volatile organic compounds was conducted. The study found all of the waxes burned in the same manner, creating comparable emissions, and posing no discernible risks to human health or indoor air quality.

The most important thing to keep in mind with candle safety is to never leave them unattended, all wicks should be kept properly trimmed and they should always be kept away from flammable objects, open windows and air drafts.

This is my first purchase of scented candle. What are your advise on using scented candle?

We will give our customers a postcard which provide details on Candle Burning Tips. However, if you have additional enquiries, please call us or email us for more information.

What kind of wax and wicks are used in Glasshouse & Circa Home & Scent Moments Brand Candles?

Glasshouse uses 100% cotton lead free wicks and non-toxic, food grade wax. Circa Home & Scent Moments Brand candles are made with natural soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks. Its wax is very safe to burn – even in the presence of babies and individuals with allergies.

WHY DOES WAX LOOK LIKE IT'S PULLING AWAY FROM THE SIDE OF MY CANDLE JAR?

As per our manufacturers' expert advise: They make their wax filled candle jars by pouring molten wax into our glass jars.  As the wax cools it shrinks and pulls away from the glass slightly.  They call it pullaway and it's par for the course in candle making. It is  not uncommon as air-pockets can be caused by changes in temperature which cause the wax to expand and contract against the glass. Unfortunately this is one of those things that is unavoidable. Please be assured that it does not affect the way the candle burns at all.

Specifically on Glasshouse Candles- please note that there is nothing wrong with these candles. This look is an optical illusion and there is no shrinkage or air pockets. If you hold the candle up to eye level and rotate the glass around, you will see this spot disappear and notice the candle wax fills the glass completely. This is not just isolated to Glasshouse candles but most companies have this same issue when they use a clear glass as you can see it.

Note : It in no way affects the burn-ability of the candle (including slight colour change due to the nature of fragrance oils).

WHY ARE THERE BLACK RESIDUE AROUND THE CANDLE JAR?

The most common reason for black residue around the jar is that the wicks could be a bit long. The good news is that if you trim these before use to around 7mm you shouldn't have this problem anymore.

How do I reuse the candle jar ?

Once the wax is finished, simply wash the glass with soap and water and reuse your candle glass jar with a tea light for a glowing ambient effect. This works the best for Circa Home Candles and Scent Moments frosted-glass candles.

I would like to know more about beeswax candles. Can you help me?

Yes! Scent Moments is the official agent & distributor for australianscent products. It's beeswax candle is one of our Top Seller products. The candles are all cotton-wicked, 100% pure, beeswax. The "natural" yellow beeswax color that still retains bits of pollen, honey or other residues. Beeswax candles create a brighter flame than other candles and produce a warm honey glow. It provides a pure and clean-burning flame that produces very little smoke.

Our 100% beeswax candles (the yellow ones in the black box) emit a subtle and natural honey aroma without any added fragrance. The little white ones in the glass are a combo of beeswax, organic coconut oil and 100% essential oils. Mixing it with coconut oil allows the essential oils to remain stabilized for a longer lasting scent.

Are your australianscent skin care products 100% natural ?

Yes!

I've tried so many skin care lines, all with mildly satisfactory results. What's the quality difference between australianscent products & others?

We encourage you to take a look at some common brands and creams available. Many, if not all will have water as the first ingredient. This is then followed by some form of alcohol and a bunch of names we've never heard of. (Usually toxic chemicals). Even most 'certified organic' fall under the same sub- standard regime. This means that what they are offering is a product that is 60-80% water - one that is highly adulterated and diluted. How is this feeding or preserving your skin when water evaporates on the skin once applied? Ever wondered why you feel the need to keep reapplying your moisturizers and lip balms throughout the day? in addition, popular ingredients utilized, such as mineral oils, propylene glycol and xanthan gum are inferior, dehydrating, inexpensive fillers that offer little to no nutritive or restorative value to the skin. In contrast, our formulas are not diluted with water, are not whipped to volumize and do not contain any fillers. Consequently, immediate, dramatic results are often experienced.

Most of your australianscents products contain oils. I have oily skin. Won't this make me even oilier?

Great question and one that gets asked a lot! Applying good oils to your skin such as almond, olive, shea, evening primrose, jojoba etc actually controls sebum production and balances the skin. That’s why all of our creams and balms can be used on all skin types as the ingredients are regulating the skin. So, oils actually reduce sebum (oil) production for oily skin and increase it for dry skin.

Can I use Wax-Lyrical Room Mists on linen/bed sheets?

The Room Mists can be used to lightly spritz on fabrics etc however the intended use if for Room Spray only.

Are the fragrancd products that you sell safe to use?

Yes! Our specially selected fragranced products that are made in England. They do not contain chemicals that are known to cause negative health effects, such as skin sensitisation; or chemicals that are known to have long term adverse effects on the environment. All of our fragrances are 100% allergen-free.
